At  Mill Park Primary School, we are committed to providing students with a high-quality education that integrates technology in ways that support explicit instruction and the science of learning. Our technology program aligns with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, ensuring that students from Foundation to Year 6 develop the digital literacy and critical thinking skills required for success in an evolving world.

  • Early Years (Prep–Year 2): Technology is used to reinforce foundational skills in literacy and numeracy through structured, teacher-led activities. Interactive tools, such as iPads and educational software, provide immediate feedback and spaced practice, supporting cognitive load management and long-term retention of knowledge.
  • Years 3–6: Each student has access to their own laptop or device, allowing for scaffolded, purposeful technology use that enhances learning through guided practice, retrieval practice, and gradual release of responsibility.
  • Digital Citizenship & Critical Thinking: Our program develops responsible and ethical technology use, equipping students with the skills to navigate online spaces safely and apply digital tools to problem-solving and inquiry-based tasks.
  • Evidence-Based Integration: Technology is embedded in lessons where it enhances direct instruction, formative assessment, and student engagement—never replacing the role of explicit teaching but complementing structured learning experiences.

At Mill Park Primary School, we recognise that technology is a powerful tool when used effectively. By integrating it with evidence-based teaching practices, we ensure that students are actively engaged, building knowledge systematically, and developing the digital skills necessary for their future success.
